Job Overview

This position is classified as non-exempt and is focused on the systematic organization and management of daily operations concerning incoming and outgoing freight. The role operates primarily during the first shift.

Responsibilities:

Shipment Coordination and Management:

  • Processes customer orders received via third-party channels and inputs them into the operational system.
  • Records incoming cargo into the inventory management system.
  • Collaborates with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient preparation of shipments.
  • Develops load plans and oversees the packing of trucks, utilizing packing slips and labeling pallets accurately; monitors daily inventory for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Ensures compliance with all customer-specific shipping standards.
  • Tracks all incoming shipments effectively.
  • Schedules bookings with transportation carriers.
  • Conducts audits on shipments for precision and adherence to compliance before dispatch.
  • Generates monthly invoices for clients.
  • Reconciles inventory for customers, either monthly or on a rolling basis.
  • Responsible for forwarding vendor invoices to the accounting department and ensuring accurate coding of charges.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Reports any irregularities, incidents, or issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Manager promptly.
Additional Duties:
  • Strives for continuous improvement and seeks more efficient and cost-effective methods in operational processes.
  • Undertakes special projects and other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Follows up to ensure completion of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Upholds high ethical standards within the workplace.
  • Maintains effective communication with supervisors, team members, and external contacts.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety.
Qualifications:

A High School diploma or GED, or equivalent experience is required. Candidates should possess one to three years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in general office equipment, including telephones, copiers, and personal computers, is necessary. Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, are essential. Forklift experience is preferred. Ideal candidates will exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and reliability.
