Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mining Engineer to join our team at Kiewit. As a Field Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our mining operations throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement work plans and work packages to ensure efficient and safe field operations.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft, and coordinate material deliveries to support day-to-day operations.
  • Perform mining and civil design work to support mining and civil operations, and provide field support and supervision to subcontractor operations.
  • Review and analyze data relative to projects, complete plans and specification reviews, and assist with the preparation of bids.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mining, Civil, Geological, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other natural science engineering fields.
  • 0-2 years of experience in mining or heavy civil project experience.
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
