Job Overview

Position Title: Group Fitness Instructor (Addison Park District), Substitute for Aqua and Silver Sneakers Programs.

Organization: Become a part of the Addison Park District and support individuals in reaching their fitness aspirations.

Department: Fitness and Recreation

Reports To: Fitness Program Manager

Employment Type: Regular Part-Time, non-exempt, IMRF ineligible

Work Schedule: Flexible hours based on class schedules, not exceeding 19 hours weekly.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Summary:

As a Substitute Group Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of group exercise sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead group fitness classes of different styles and intensity levels, including Aqua and Silver Sneakers sessions.
  • Comply with all safety regulations set forth by the Park District.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Adult CPR/AED certification.
  • Valid certification as a Group Fitness Instructor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to step into substitute instructor roles on short notice.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily an indoor setting, with opportunities for outdoor classes.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capable of working independently under the direction of the Fitness Program Manager.
  • Proficient in collaborating within a team and upholding the values of the Park District.
  • Exhibits professionalism and composure in challenging situations.
  • Open to receiving feedback and guidance.
  • Adaptable to new challenges and environments.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to achieving fitness goals.
