Sign Language Interpreter Opportunity

Soliant is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in the Lacey, WA area. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will provide interpretation services for students in a school setting, assist in classroom instruction and activities, and support students in understanding and participating in classroom discussions and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sign language interpretation services for students in a school setting
  • Assist in classroom instruction and activities by interpreting spoken language into sign language
  • Support students in understanding and participating in classroom discussions and activities
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with hearing impairments
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter-RID or NIC Certification preferred
  • EIPA of 4.0 or greater REQUIRED (if no RID or NIC certification is held)
  • Experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
