Dialysis Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Dialysis Technician to join our team at Community Medical Centers of Fresno, CA. As a Dialysis Technician, you will be responsible for providing patient care and technical support in a dialysis setting.
Responsibilities- Provide ongoing surveillance of dialysis machines, water systems, and unit supplies.
- Participate in patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Assess patient condition prior to initiation and during dialysis.
- Perform 30-minute checks of patient and document any change in patient's condition.
- Interact with healthcare team to support and reinforce patient/family teaching plan.
- Assist in planning department maintenance and share responsibility for ensuring adequate supplies.
- Perform technical duties related to opening and closing of the unit and reuse procedures.
- Practice cost-efficient use of supplies and linen.
- Follow established charge procedures for patient charge capture.
- Identify potential problems, plan preventative intervention, and report potential problems with equipment to the Dialysis Technician 2.
- Assess water system and dialysis machine readiness.
- Perform technical duties with machines and water system under the direction of the Dialysis Technician 2 and Manager.
- Detect water or machine system difficulties, recognize faulty or inoperable equipment, and report it to Dialysis Tech 2 for immediate repair.
- Answer unit call lights and respond to patient needs or communicate to appropriate member of healthcare team.
- High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required.
- Two years of college with coursework in science, medical electronics, or health science preferred.
- 1 year of medical experience, CNA, EMT, Phlebotomy, or equivalent required.
- CAHT - State of California Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) required.
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- CCHT - Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician preferred.
