Facilities Operations Manager

The Director of Maintenance and Facilities will oversee the daily operation of Bronx House, Inc. facilities, ensuring efficient and effective management of maintenance, repairs, and renovations. This role requires strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, members, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management: Direct the care, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of all facilities, including oversight of day-to-day operations, maintenance functions, and small to medium-scale renovations.
- Staff Supervision: Manage a team of maintenance staff for three facilities, including scheduling, work order management, payroll approval, and staff performance evaluation and training.
- Budgeting and Planning: Assist the Chief Operating Officer in developing and implementing budgets, plans, policies, and procedures for construction, renovation, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, systems, grounds, equipment, and related technologies.
- Emergency Response: Direct the prompt response to facility and operational emergencies, requiring unscheduled early morning, evening, and weekend work as needed.
- Vendor Management: Arrange and manage repairs of all systems, overseeing vendors performing such repairs, and maintaining records of HVAC, Fire Alarm/Sprinkler, and Elevator service.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a facilities manager or equivalent, with 5+ years of staff supervision experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong supervisory skills, with ability to work well with all levels of leadership, staff, members, and visitors.
- Ability to work independently with high reliability, accuracy, and productivity, exercising independent judgment in decision-making processes.
- Demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to problems, analyze situations, and implement action plans in a timely manner.
- Excellent technical and writing skills, with ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and tactfully.
- Solid understanding of OSHA, FDNY/DOB code, and building engineering.
- Fluent in the use of technology and office suites, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Required certifications: 10 and 30-hour OSHA, CDL license with P & S endorsements, Certified Pool Operator, FDNY S95 and F07 or ability to obtain within 1st month.
