Job Description

Hospitals in the North Charleston, SC area are currently hiring Registered Nurses for ICU positions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and work with patients requiring critical care.

The ideal candidate will have experience in areas such as arrhythmia management, bariatric care, code management, COVID-19 treatment, CRRT training, CVICU, burn patient care, chest tube insertion, ECMO, external pacemaker management, high acuity care, intra-aortic balloon pump, MICU, Neuro ICU, post-MI thromboembolic care, post-cardiac surgery care, post-neuro surgery care, RRT, SICU, TPA administration, transplant care, or vascular intervention.

This position offers flexibility with available shifts including day, night, and mid-shifts. Job types include full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities. Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or higher is required.
  • A valid and unencumbered registered nurse license is mandatory.
  • One year of experience in a critical care unit (ICU) is preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is also preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to function effectively under stress.
  • Experience with advanced medical equipment and procedures is essential.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Rapidly assess patient conditions, including vital signs and other physiological parameters, and provide appropriate care.
  • Monitor and provide care to patients with critically ill, unstable, and/or life-threatening conditions.
  • Manage various life-support systems like ventilation and heart-monitoring.
  • Participate in rapid response and emergency situations.
  • Administer medications and other treatments.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about the patient's condition and care plan.
