Overview:
Blue Point Healthcare Center is seeking dedicated RN Nursing Supervisors to oversee and enhance our nursing team.
Position Purpose:
The RN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for delegating, supervising, and delivering personalized nursing care to residents while providing leadership to nursing staff. This role ensures that care standards are upheld and that the highest quality of resident care is consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure adequate nursing staffing levels to maintain quality resident care.
2. Facilitate the orientation and ongoing training of new nursing staff.
3. Develop and communicate shift assignments, monitoring performance to ensure compliance with nursing standards.
4. Assist with scheduling as necessary.
5. Communicate effectively with ancillary departments and nursing staff regarding resident conditions and needs during shift changes.
6. Ensure adherence to established departmental policies and procedures by all nursing staff.
7. Keep the Director of Nursing and Unit Managers informed of any concerns or needs related to staff, residents, or families, and assist in problem-solving as required.
8. Review reports from previous shifts to ensure continuity of care and follow-up on resident matters.
9. Participate in the performance evaluation process for nursing staff.
10. Maintain accurate census reports and documentation in accordance with policy.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the relevant state.
- Nursing degree from an accredited institution and graduation from an approved RN program.
- Previous experience in long-term care settings.
- Supervisory or management experience is essential.
