The Monell Chemical Senses Center stands as a premier non-profit research organization, recognized globally for its commitment to enhancing understanding of taste, smell, and associated sensory modalities. Situated in a vibrant hub of education and life sciences, Monell is dedicated to translating scientific discoveries into impactful advancements in policy, practice, and human behavior.

The Wise laboratory is in search of a Research Technician or Senior Research Technician to join our innovative project team. This role is pivotal in conducting psychophysical and sensory experiments aimed at improving the palatability of essential medications, thereby promoting adherence to prescribed treatment protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory and procure research materials
  • Recruit and coordinate schedules for human research participants
  • Prepare samples for sensory evaluation
  • Conduct psychophysical assessments in accordance with established protocols
  • Maintain accurate records and perform data entry
  • Communicate findings effectively with the project team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral or Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related discipline
  • Proven ability to adhere to research protocols and maintain comprehensive records
  • Skilled in instructing research participants to ensure precise data collection
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated capacity for teamwork
  • Exhibited enthusiasm, adaptability, and passion for research
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel
