Job Overview

The Process Improvement Specialist serves as the driving force for enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs within the organization. This role focuses on the development and execution of process enhancement initiatives, utilizing value stream mapping and Lean methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a Continuous Improvement (CI) Roadmap aimed at achieving productivity gains and cost efficiencies.
  • Lead CI initiatives across various departments, promoting collaboration to ensure the adoption of streamlined processes and practices.
  • Design and deliver training programs in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including 6S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED). Provide coaching and mentorship to team members on best practices in CI.
  • Manage a portfolio of process improvement projects aligned with CI goals. Organize and facilitate Kaizen events, leading teams to make data-driven business recommendations.
  • Develop and track CI metrics to assess current performance and calculate return on investment (ROI) for significant projects.
  • Oversee all stages of the process improvement project lifecycle, collaborating closely with Operations and Engineering leadership to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Create standard work aids, including process maps, checklists, templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze historical, current, and predictive data to inform decision-making and drive improvement activities.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial).
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years in leading continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
Certification:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Skills:
Demonstrated leadership, assertiveness, and the ability to work effectively in teams. Proven capacity to influence and guide others.
Experience in indirect management, including assisting leadership in the development and training of team members.
Ability to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
Project Management:
Proficient in planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve specific project objectives.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Visio, MS Project, and Minitab is essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification:
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Experience:
Experience in FDA-regulated environments and ISO standards (ISO-14385). Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
