Job Description

Job Summary:

The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and train staff, manage inventory and finances, and maintain a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective operational strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of restaurant staff, including servers, hosts, and kitchen staff.
  • Manage inventory, labor costs, and financials to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote specials and events.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports, including financials, inventory, and customer feedback.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement plans to address areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a restaurant management position.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business management or a related field.

Language Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).

Reasoning Ability:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move items not to exceed 40 pounds, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, controls, etc.
