Job Title: Sr. Scrum Master

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Scrum Master to join our team supporting the Administrative Office of the US Courts (AOUSC) Case Management Systems Office (CMSO) in its modernization effort for one of its mission-critical applications.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Scrum Master will be responsible for executing the following key responsibilities:

  • Establishing goals and plans that meet Program Increment (PI) objectives.
  • Coaching technical teams and Product Owners on Agile concepts, including Epic and User Story creation, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Managing expectations with multiple Product Owners.
  • Interacting with clients and senior management.
  • Providing leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
  • Facilitating horizontal and vertical communication across team members to identify dependencies and risks.
  • Organizing and facilitating SCRUM ceremonies.
  • Maintaining JIRA and other information radiators.
  • Mentoring and coaching team members on Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Enabling the team to become self-organizing and self-managing.
  • Working with the Product Management team to develop release plans.
  • Motivating teams to perform and ensuring team members are collectively responsible for all aspects of the committed work.
  • Identifying, addressing, and communicating project risks, dependencies, and team impediments.
  • Ensuring the team's 'definition of done' is well-defined.
  • Facilitating productivity through discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Shielding the team from external interferences.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication and improving transparency.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment.
  • Assessing the Scrum maturity of the team and coaching them to higher levels of maturity.
  • Coaching a continuous improvement mindset and recommending adjustments to established delivery practices.
  • Participating in Scrum of Scrum meetings to ensure cross-team collaboration and coordination.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree plus at least five (5+) years of experience in Agile development environment.
  • Experience with using and implementing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work rapidly in a high-tempo environment.
  • Experience with software development or working in a software development organization.
  • Ability to create, sustain, and enhance fostering of team dynamics and collaboration.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Certified Scrum Master (PMI-ACP).
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Effective influence, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify win-win solutions.
  • Effective facilitation skills.
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
