POSITION SUMMARY
The Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of the establishment. This includes overseeing significant mechanical systems, fire and life-safety apparatus, grounds maintenance, lighting, plumbing, kitchen machinery, electrical systems, controls, and any other infrastructure essential to the facility's integrity.
Responsibilities encompass embodying our core values of Fun, Friendly, and Community. The specialist is tasked with upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, aesthetics, and guest satisfaction while ensuring adherence to all training and licensure requirements for staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate motivation and resourcefulness to achieve set objectives.
- Influence quality guest service and operational profitability.
- Adhere to departmental standards and guidelines to maintain the efficient operation of the facility.
- Assist in managing utility costs through operational efficiencies.
- Implement maintenance programs and maintain service records as necessary.
- Diagnose and repair issues in mechanical or electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, kitchen, and other equipment.
- Maintain the exterior of the building, ensuring curb appeal through snow removal, lawn care, painting, and other necessary actions.
- Perform routine maintenance and operations of the physical structure, including all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Hazcom regulations, including adherence to departmental MSDS sheets and procedures.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, providing detailed reports to the Chief Engineer.
- Respond to communications regarding complaints or concerns and take appropriate actions.
- Work efficiently to maximize productivity and guest satisfaction with minimal supervision.
- Attend all required meetings to gather and share relevant information.
- Evaluate the condition of furniture, fixtures, and decor, conducting continuous visual inspections of public areas and making repairs as directed.
- Operate all equipment safely, following the manufacturer's recommendations and facility standard operating procedures.
- Conduct oneself in a gracious and professional manner that reflects positively on the company and its core values.
- Participate in the property Safety Committee as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must possess the ability to:
- Accurately perform calculations and mathematical functions as required.
- Identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret various technical and mathematical formulas.
- Follow diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Be flexible to work various shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Be physically mobile, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing various physical tasks in different work environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, facility operations, or a related field. A combination of vocational education, apprenticeship training, and on-the-job training is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Skills Required:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, regulations, and correspondence; write reports and business correspondence; effectively present information and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders. Proficiency in Excel and Word is preferred, along with a keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Each team member is responsible for compliance with laws and regulations, including:
- Attending required training sessions.
- Obtaining necessary licenses.
- Performing duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
- Ensuring minors are not permitted in gambling areas or allowed to consume alcohol or tobacco.
- Understanding departmental ordinances, regulations, and policies.
- Consulting with relevant individuals to maintain effective written policies and procedures for compliance.
- Investigating exceptions, fraud, and potential violations, reporting them to management.
- Reporting any wrongdoing observed among team members.
