Job Summary

This position is part of the facility team at Kansas Employer. The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining machinery, equipment, and physical structures. Key responsibilities include planning and carrying out preventative maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment, as well as repairing and remodeling architectural and structural elements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for completing and generating work orders, maintaining life safety systems, and following universal precautions and Safety Data Sheets requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluates defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, if applicable.
Troubleshoots and repairs or coordinates with contractors for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC problems; replaces a variety of light bulbs, filters, and other consumable items.
Responsible for repairs and maintenance of dental equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance and light repairs in and around facilities, some of which requires extension ladder and roof-top confidence.
Coordinates vehicle fleet maintenance, including cleaning, routine maintenance, and facilitating repairs.
Maintains building doors, hardware, and keying system.
Light grounds keeping as needed, which may include power washing, sidewalk sweeping, snow removal, de-icing, and painting.
Reports and responds to immediate or emergency calls for maintenance assistance, including after-hour calls and alarms.
Provides support for duties assigned to custodial technicians.
Maintains inventory and submits written requests for needed supplies.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance and repair principles, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and relevant experience in a maintenance or repair role is preferred.
