Job Description

As a Patient Care Assistant at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to perform various patient care activities and related duties necessary to care for the personal needs and comfort of patients, as well as for the effective and efficient operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and comfort to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as eating, toileting, and mobility
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff
  • Participate in patient education and support
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Completion of a technical program for nursing assistant training or satisfactory completion of academic courses related to fundamentals of nursing
  • Ability to read and write clearly and legibly
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Annual completion of established competency requirements
  • Ability to function under stressful situations
  • Experience in operating personal computers, including operation of computer software in a Windows environment (preferred)
Work Environment:
