About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mold Maintenance Specialist to join our team at ACO, Inc. in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate machine tools to inspect and maintain mold parts, ensuring they are in working order.
  • Dismantle, assemble, and maintain molds and related tooling, replacing worn and broken parts as needed.
  • Diagnose and correct trouble promptly for mold equipment on the production line, making repairs accordingly.
  • Identify sources of mechanical failure on molds and ensure work meets manufacture specifications.
  • Add and remove molds from the production line as needed, per production supervisor instructions for customer orders.
  • Offer input on mold design to meet quality and customer expectations in the facility.
  • Keep accurate records of time, material, and maintenance on all replacement parts and repairs done on production molds.
  • Visually inspect tools for obvious damage and report unusual conditions to the immediate supervisor.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule for molds/tools, ensuring replacement and repairs are done safely.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Mechanically inclined with great troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for mold repair.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence for preventive maintenance sheets for mold upgrades or changes.
  • Good communication skills with the immediate supervisor and coworkers for work instructions.
  • Ability to write legibly on documentation, preventive maintenance sheets, and work orders.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions, percentages, and circumference.
  • Ability to operate a drill press, mechanical mill, lathe, and welding equipment, following safety and handling measures.
  • Ability to use a micrometer and other measuring tools for all job requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics/blueprints for different projects.
  • Works well independently and with others, being a team player and treating everyone fairly.
  • Organized with attention to detail on all work performed and duties.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment to minimize downtime.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
