Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Asset Managers to review monthly financial statements for assigned multi-family projects, focusing on variances between actual performance and budget, while ensuring proper escrow balances and accruals.
  • Offer accounting support to Property Accountants to rectify account balances reflected in financial statements.
  • Conduct calculations for surplus cash flow, debt service coverage ratios, and other essential financial metrics.
  • Engage with independent auditors during year-end property financial audits, project cost certifications, and tax return preparations to guarantee the accuracy of financial data.
  • Execute analysis of partners' tax basis capital accounts in accordance with partnership agreements and relevant tax codes.
  • Contribute to the annual property budget review process by providing insights into operational trends versus budget expectations.
  • Work closely with Property Management, Asset Management, and Development teams during pre- and post-acquisition activities to integrate assets into the company's portfolio.
  • Maintain and monitor reporting obligations for all syndicators, investors, and financial institutions.
  • Manage all tax-related communications with the Treasury Department and various Revenue Departments.
  • Organize and analyze the financial implications of real estate investments, including Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).
Qualifications and Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate development or multi-family property management.
  • Active CPA License is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
