Job Summary

The Up Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinician to join our Center of Excellence team. As a key member of our outpatient counseling program, you will provide high-quality clinical services to individuals, families, and communities.

Our Center of Excellence is dedicated to investing in workforce development strategies that produce diverse, well-trained, and highly effective mental health providers. We are committed to creating pathways for our behavioral health workforce pipeline to become skilled clinicians trained to work in human service organizations and other under-resourced environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical counseling and psychoeducational groups to a diversified caseload, including individuals, families, marital counseling, and parent/child counseling.
  • Perform tasks related to direct practice, such as navigating the electronic health record, writing progress notes, assessments, and discharge summaries.
  • Provide case management functions, including making referrals to other agencies, preparing monthly reports, and testifying in court as indicated.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the caregiver, physician, psychiatrist, case manager, and other disciplinary treatment team members to provide the best care to clients.
  • Attend weekly clinical groups, supervision, and administrative meetings.
  • Provide services via telehealth platform, as required.
  • Participate in best practice and evidence-based clinical training to obtain certifications in multiple treatment modalities.
Requirements
  • A master's degree in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy, and eligibility for licensure in the state of Virginia.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of professional counseling and social work, including case work methods and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with other professional disciplines.
  • Communication skills, including the ability to write case records, letters, and reports.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must meet background check requirements and have a valid driver's license.
