Job Summary

The Hood Technician position is a critical role within Summit Companies, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of commercial kitchen exhaust systems. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including fans, roof, and filters
  • Inspect and identify potential issues with exhaust systems, reporting findings to management
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating moving parts and replacing filters
  • Take photographs of work completed for documentation purposes
  • Drive company vehicles to and from job sites, ensuring timely arrival and departure
  • Complete paperwork and documentation related to job tasks and activities
  • Ensure company vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition
  • Work at heights, using ladders and other equipment as necessary
  • Interact with restaurant management and staff, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate and direct others
  • Light mechanical ability and experience with hand and power tools
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety and efficiency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to comply with company policies and procedures, including drug and alcohol testing and background screening
Work Environment

Employees in this role will work primarily outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions, dust, fumes, and chemicals. They will also work at heights, using ladders and other equipment as necessary. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.
