Role Summary:
The Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. All activities are conducted under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Shift Differentials:

  • Weekday Evening: 10%
  • Weekday Night: 10%
  • Weekend Day: 5%
  • Weekend Evening: 15%
  • Weekend Night: 15%

This role is eligible for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, offering $5000 in commitment incentives distributed over two years, with payments made after six months, one year, and two years of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in IV preparation is essential.
  • Proficient in mixing and compounding IV medications using a Laminar Flow Hood or Biological Safety Cabinet.
  • Adhere to best practices as outlined in USP and .
  • Conduct pharmaceutical infusion compounding activities.
  • Maintain sanitation, upkeep, and tracking of infusion equipment and the IV room.
  • Ensure cleaning and sterilization of equipment, instruments, and cleanroom in accordance with established procedures.
  • Successfully complete annual proficiency and certification assessments: gowning, aseptic technique, labeling, facilities sanitation, and equipment cleaning.
  • Assist in preparing the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for the preparation of compounded sterile solutions using aseptic techniques.

Additional Information

Education Requirements:
● No specific educational background required if other qualifications are met. Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
● CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
