Role Summary:
The Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in assisting pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. All activities are conducted under the guidance of a licensed Pharmacist.

Shift Differentials:

  • Weekday Evening: 10%
  • Weekday Night: 10%
  • Weekend Day: 5%
  • Weekend Evening: 15%
  • Weekend Night: 15%

This role is eligible for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, which offers $5000 in commitment incentives distributed over a two-year timeframe. Payments are made after six months, one year, and two years of service. Learn more about the Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in IV Preparation
  • Proficient in mixing and compounding IV medications using a Laminar Flow Hood or Biological Safety Cabinet
  • Adhere to best practices as outlined in USP and
  • Conduct pharmaceutical infusion compounding activities
  • Maintain sanitation, upkeep, and tracking of infusion equipment and the IV room
  • Ensure cleaning and sterilization of equipment, instruments, and cleanroom as per protocols
  • Successfully complete annual proficiency and certification evaluations: gowning, aseptic technique, labeling, facilities sanitation, equipment cleaning
  • Assist in preparing the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for the preparation of compounded sterile solutions, employing aseptic techniques.

Additional Information

Educational Qualifications:
● No specific education required if other qualifications are met. Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
● Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
● CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
Professional Experience:
● Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
