Job SummaryWe're looking for a part-time Security Officer to provide protection for all persons and property safety within our organization and its environment. As a Security Officer, you'll provide customer service, ensure orderly parking, and respond to security needs of hospital personnel quickly and effectively.
Responsibilities- Patrol the Medical Center complex, including all buildings and grounds, to provide a visible deterrence in preventing criminal and prohibited activity.
- Respond quickly and effectively to all calls for service.
- Ensure only authorized personnel are admitted onto hospital premises.
- Assure orderly, safe, and efficient access and parking for patients, visitors, and employees as needed.
- Assist motorists who become stranded on hospital property.
- Perform Dispatcher responsibilities.
- Respond in a timely manner and report all incidents occurring on hospital property and submit an incident report after the investigation to the director by end of shift.
- Write accurate, clear, and legible incident/Midas reports and documents investigative steps and results.
- Respond to all emergency/alarm calls for assistance, with a minimum of 2 Officers, to control behavioral issues, disorderly conduct, or combative patients.
- Conduct searches, at the request of staff, when reasonable suspicion has been established, to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
- Perform Services to Departments/Practices, and patients to ensure safe handling of monies.
- Assist with patient lifting/moving as requested, and at the direction of clinical staff.
- Escort customers and employees as needed and requested.
- Operate Security Department vehicles and bicycle in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
- Monitor the hospital using electronic security equipment (closed-circuit television, alarms, HUGS infant security system, etc.).
- Comply with and enforce all organizational policies and procedures as assigned by Administration and the Security Director.
- Process deceased patients.
- Participate in performance improvement activities as requested.
- Perform switchboard responsibilities as directed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and promote a secure environment needed by the patient group.
- Provide customer service and interact with all individuals in a consistent manner, providing attention, support, and assistance to foster an environment of exceptional personal service.
