Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in achieving their academic goals
  • Serve as the primary academic and career mentor for a specific school
  • Develop initiatives to help students explore career options that correspond with their academic interests
  • Employ various digital platforms to monitor student performance
  • Remain knowledgeable about the curricula within assigned schools
  • Contribute to student retention efforts and graduate success
  • Support students encountering academic difficulties
  • Maintain consistent communication with students to track their progress
  • Collaborate with various university departments
  • Plan and lead student workshops
  • Comply with FERPA regulations
  • Stay informed about best practices in academic advising
  • Engage in departmental meetings
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Director of Academic Success

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or a related discipline
  • 2-3 years of experience in academic or career advising within higher education
  • Understanding of diverse student demographics
