The Lansing Board of Water & Light seeks a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join their team in Lansing, MI.


Key Responsibilities:
Install and maintain power distribution systems, substations, and general electrical equipment at BWL production facilities, including Delta Energy Park, Reo Town Generation Facility, Dye Water, Wise Road facilities, and all substations.

Essential Functions:


Install and maintain breakers, transformers, switches, tap changers, and other electrical equipment on 138KV and potentially energized voltages of 13.2KV 480-V and lighting systems.

Installs and repairs electric motors and controls
Installs electric conduit and cable
Installs and maintains DC battery systems
Works on computer equipment installations
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear required personal protective equipment
Must attend training for safety awareness or skills improvement as required by supervisor, BWL or governmental agency such as MIOSHA
Must be able to respond to code calls or other emergencies within the production facility
Performs other duties as required or necessitated by job responsibilities
