Vending Machine Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vending Attendant to join our team at the University of Buffalo - Campus Dining. As a Vending Attendant, you will be responsible for stocking vending machines, maintaining vending equipment, and ensuring that our customers have access to a wide range of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Restock vending machines on a daily basis
  • Restock vending trucks with products
  • Collect cash from vending machines on a weekly basis
  • Clean vending areas, including microwave ovens
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on vending machines
  • Perform light technical troubleshooting of vending machine-related problems
  • Perform light repairs on vending equipment
  • Perform inventories of vending trucks and vending machines
  • Clean and organize warehouse and unload products
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years of work experience
  • Experience in inventory and cash reconciliation, profit and loss statement preparation, and product requisition processing
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to demonstrate safe driving practices
Work Environment

The work environment can be loud and busy, with exposure to kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors. The position operates in a kitchen environment where the employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. Exposure to extreme temperatures in coolers and freezers is also a requirement.

Physical and Mental Demands

The position is very active, requiring the employee to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
