CNC Field Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled CNC Field Service Technician to join our team at SearchPath Mid-Michigan. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machinery and related equipment at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities- Installation & Setup
- Install and configure CNC machinery and equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct initial machine calibration and ensure proper functioning before handover to the client.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and parts replacement.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues with CNC machinery.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify problems and determine solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on machine operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Address and resolve client issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and any issues encountered.
- Prepare detailed service reports and documentation for each job performed.
- Update and maintain service manuals and technical documentation as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on site.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Stay current with advancements in CNC technology and machinery.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC machinery service and repair. Experience with specific CNC brands or models is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of CNC systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CNC Machining, Electrical Systems) are advantageous.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel to client sites.
- This position involves travel to various client locations, which may include long hours and occasional overnight stays.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
