Position Overview:

The Educational Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting classroom educators and enhancing student learning experiences. This position focuses on delivering essential instructional support, individualized attention, and fostering a conducive learning environment. The specialist collaborates closely with the classroom teacher, ensuring effective communication and feedback through observation and discussions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students in educational settings by facilitating task completion as directed by teachers.
  • Support educators in monitoring, documenting, and analyzing student behavior.
  • Supervise students during transitions, including hallways, lunchrooms, and recreational areas.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Understanding of educational principles and training methodologies.
  • Proficiency in technology and educational tools.
  • Ability to instruct and guide students effectively.
  • Awareness of public safety and security protocols.
  • Insight into social dynamics and student behavior.
  • Strong observational and monitoring skills.
  • Capability to solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
Technical Proficiencies:
  • Familiarity with Google Suite for Education.

Educational Qualifications:

Certification Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree with teaching qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
OR
  • A minimum of two years of college education in the field of education.
OR
  • A high school diploma accompanied by three years of relevant experience in an educational setting will be considered.
  • Successful completion of all required background checks is mandatory.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking and listening.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing 20-25 lbs.
  • Mobility to navigate stairs and different areas within the educational environment.
