Job Title: Construction Superintendent

StructSure Projects is seeking a highly experienced Construction Superintendent to lead our construction projects in Fort Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Superintendent for a General Contractor. Additionally, they should have at least 5 years of experience working on Design Build projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of all phases of projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and 100% owner satisfaction.
  • Lead the onsite team and coordinate with Headquarters regarding all onsite personnel.
  • Maintain safety and infection control on all jobs, including proper documentation and safety meetings.
  • Manage project schedules, including look-ahead scheduling, weekly jobsite meetings, and sub-vendor coordination.
  • Interpret drawings and identify potential constructability issues, working with the project team to resolve.
  • Coordinate and conduct weekly foreman meetings, risk management, and problem-solving with the project team.
  • Act as the main liaison between the Project Manager, Sub-vendors, and the Owner's Representative.
  • Direct and supervise the work of all personnel on the project, ensuring subcontractors complete work per contract documents and quality standards.
  • Complete field reports, time sheets, punch lists, purchase orders, inspections, and permitting, maintaining policies of documentation inside IDBO software.
  • Mentor Assistant Superintendents, field staff, and Project Engineers on the project.
  • Staff projects with labor as needed, making hiring decisions for labor staff.
Requirements:
  • BS in Construction or a related field (preferred).
  • CPR, Standard First Aid, and OSHA 30 certification.
  • ASHE Certification (strongly preferred).
  • Contractor Quality Control Management Certificate (USACE CQM) (strongly preferred).
  • Federal healthcare Superintendent experience (strongly preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of infection control standards.
  • Superior understanding of OSHA safety guidelines and implementation/management.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment and best construction practices.
  • Maintains current on required documentation.
  • Maintains few punch list items and quickly corrects items with no repeat deficiencies.
  • Successfully coordinates with and manages subcontractors.
  • Average computer skills, including Microsoft Suite.
  • Construction software experience.
  • Familiar with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, system controls, fire alarm controls, sprinkler systems, and general carpentry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, internally and externally.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to navigate through a construction site for extended periods.
  • Ability to work on a computer and perform administrative tasks.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work, including climbing, lifting, using construction tools, moving boxes, and stooping over up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and electronically by hearing and talking.
  • Subject to change in weather conditions, such as heat or cold weather.
  • Subject to loud noises and vibrations.
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions, such as odors, dusts, poor ventilation, fumes.
  • Depending on project location, employee may be subject to infectious diseases from patients in hospitals.
  • Subject to close quarters, small enclosed rooms, narrow passageways, and other small quarters.
