Job Title: Senior Principal Chief Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Chief Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Systems Engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading the technical direction and execution of assigned capabilities within the Increment 2 development effort, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) efforts, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate technical support, review, and approval of engineering documents and drawings
  • Support program reviews as an engineering review authority, and assist in resolution of program engineering challenges (technical, financial, and staffing)
  • Coordinate across programs and functions for common efficiencies and operational gains
  • Make decisions that impact the organization's operations, and services
  • Comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
  • Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and good oral and written presentation skills
  • Problem-solving experience in a team environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field and 8 years of related technical experience; Master's degree in a STEM field and 6 years of related technical experience, or PHD in a STEM field; 4 years of related technical experience
  • Understanding of DoD design process
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience directly managing or leading engineering teams
  • Experience in Root Cause Investigation & Corrective Action Development
  • Experience with Quality Assurance, Configuration and Data Management
  • Experience managing external suppliers
  • Experience in conducting trade studies
  • Experience with flight critical management systems
  • Demonstrated success as a Chief Engineer or Deputy Chief Engineer
  • Post graduate degree in STEM or technical management
  • Experience in Agile hardware/software programs
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
