The Role

As a Laborer at Recology, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe facility. Under close supervision, you will assist with various projects, including keeping the facility litter-free and picking up metal or other recyclable materials.

Responsibilities
  • Spots or directs public vehicles to the appropriate tipping area.
  • Picks up blown litter on adjoining roads.
  • Picks up metal or other recyclable materials from the tipping area.
  • Brings full litter garbage bags to the pick-up truck or tipping area.
  • Relieves the Spotter during lunch breaks and other times, as needed.
  • Repairs drainage flumes.
  • Moves and/or constructs wind fences.
Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

  • Entry-level position for a person with the required knowledge, but no specific experience is required.
  • Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations.
  • Basic computer programs.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
