Job Title: Mgr III TransportationJob Summary:

As a key member of the Distribution & Transportation team, the Mgr III Transportation will lead the development, maintenance, and evolution of a comprehensive transportation strategy across the ADUSA Distribution network. This role will create key transportation management metrics that drive best-in-class performance across the ADUSA transportation network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide management for day-to-day activities of regional transportation roles to guide the implementation of strategies and initiatives for transportation impacting 20+ regional Supply Chain Campuses.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to meet budgeted key performance metrics, including cost per mile, on-time delivery, driver availability, and staffing.
  • Partner with Logistics and Supply Chain Senior Operational Leadership to ensure Transportation key performance indicators are developed, analyzed, and effectively reported.
  • Direct and create best practices on compliance of standards for the Transportation operations across the ADUSA distribution network.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local agencies, including registrations, tolls, etc.
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and evolution of training programs for all distribution network associates on transportation operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and input to the network capital plan for all Transportation assets.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of driver incentive and pay programs.
  • Lead the identification and execution of revenue-generating initiatives, such as fleet for hire and backhaul.
  • Work closely with all 3rd party vendors and providers throughout the network to ensure maximum service to brands.
  • Serve as the transportation expert internally and externally on transportation principles, trends, and insights within the transportation industry.
Requirements:
  • Detailed understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations.
  • Advanced understanding of large-scale grocery transportation industry best practices and metrics.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, influence, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and persuasive in presenting and selling ideas and executing their implementation.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day activity in support of identified business area and functional area strategies.
  • Ability to influence organizational alignment across multiple business areas.
  • Ability to take an educated risk with implementing programs that support consumer demands.
  • Ability to think innovatively.
  • Demonstrate a personal acceptance of change and the ability to adapt and drive change.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. 6-8 years Grocery Supply Chain experience and/or Transportation Management experience. Fleet Management experience preferred.
