Job Title: Senior Human Resources Specialist

Applied Physical Sciences Corp (APS) is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Specialist to join its Administrative offices in Pawcatuck, CT. This role is responsible for supporting and administering the company's Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures in a legally compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the oversight and administration of human resource programs, including benchmarking and updating compensation programs, maintaining competitive benefits programs, and enhancing performance and learning management systems.
  • Support the onboarding and off-boarding of employees, including performance reviews, complaints, investigations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct or assist with audits and filing mandatory reports, including I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, Affirmative Action Plans, and other compliance reviews.
  • Support the implementation of HRIS systems and modify current systems/processes to streamline workflow and collect and report critical data and important HR metrics.
  • Support payroll processing as required and maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or 10 or more years of demonstrated experience as an HR Generalist in lieu of an HR degree.
  • At least 5 years of additional Human Resources experience.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CHRP, or similar certification is strongly preferred.
