Job Title: Senior Human Resources Specialist

Applied Physical Sciences Corp (APS) is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Specialist to join its Administrative offices in Pawcatuck, CT. This role is responsible for supporting and administering the company's Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures in a legally compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the oversight and administration of human resource programs, including benchmarking and updating compensation programs, maintaining competitive benefits programs, and enhancing performance and learning management systems.
  • Support the onboarding and off-boarding of employees, including conducting new hire orientations and exit interviews.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support the performance management process, including performance reviews, complaints, investigations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Conduct or assist with audits and filing mandatory reports, including I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, and Affirmative Action Plans.
  • Support the implementation of HRIS systems and modify current systems/processes to streamline workflow and collect and report critical data and important HR metrics.
  • Support payroll processing as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Stay up-to-date on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
