POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Retail Operations Leader is accountable for overseeing all facets of store operations. This role involves leading the store to consistently meet company standards and best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Recruiting, training, and developing a strong leadership team to achieve sales and profitability goals while ensuring a welcoming shopping environment.
- Managing stockroom, front end, and sales floor operations to guarantee timely merchandise availability and efficient expense management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Excellence:
- Implement company best practices to enhance productivity.
- Analyze store performance reports to monitor expenses and overall effectiveness.
- Develop action plans to address any discrepancies from company standards.
- Ensure appropriate scheduling of associates to meet business needs.
- Oversee payroll administration and compliance.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor Assistant Managers and Associates.
- Work to minimize turnover through effective selection and training.
- Address performance issues with appropriate coaching and disciplinary measures.
Financial Stewardship:
- Manage store expenditures to remain within budget.
- Control payroll hours as a primary expense, adjusting as necessary based on business trends.
Safety and Security:
- Ensure compliance with safety policies to protect associates and customers.
- Train associates on emergency procedures and loss prevention strategies.
Customer Engagement:
- Provide exceptional service to customers and foster a respectful environment.
- Supervise retail associates to ensure efficient service across all customer touchpoints.
Store Presentation:
- Lead the team in maintaining a professional appearance and a clean, organized store.
- Ensure merchandise is displayed according to company guidelines.
Loss Prevention:
- Train associates on loss prevention techniques to achieve store goals.
- Oversee the annual inventory process and monitor stock levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of five years of management experience in a retail setting.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills.
- Fluency in English is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to operate store equipment and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Capability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct oversight of Assistant Store Managers, Area Supervisors, and all retail associates.
