JT4, LLC is dedicated to providing engineering and technical assistance to various western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, known as J-Tech II. Our mission is to create and sustain realistic, integrated testing and training environments, preparing our nation's combat aircraft, weapon systems, and aircrews for current missions and future global challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a technical advisor on projects, overseeing development, scheduling, project management, and system installations.
- Define test objectives, instrumentation, and data requirements; draft test planning documents; schedule program activities; plan and execute test missions; analyze resulting data; and compile findings in test reports, statistical evaluations, and presentation briefings.
- Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; serve as a liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, logistics, financial, and program management teams to establish system specifications and requirements.
- Ensure adherence to engineering documentation standards and testing protocols.
- Prepare and present technical papers and conduct engineering studies.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Maintain technical oversight for assigned projects and keep management informed of progress to support both technical and administrative project directions.
- Conduct site evaluations and experimental analyses, addressing engineering challenges, proposing solutions, and offering recommendations.
- Develop, interpret, and enforce technical and administrative operating policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Provide expertise in assessing aircraft/store compatibility for the captive carriage and release/launch of Armament Systems, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, and Universal Armament Interface (UAI) protocols.
- Integrate weapons and carriage systems into aircraft and airborne platform Operational Flight Programs (OFPs).
- Manage the development and assessment of proposed changes to mission planning systems, such as the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS), to facilitate mission planning for weapon systems.
- Participate in aircraft integration activities and meetings, ensuring that the operator's perspective on aircraft integration and employment is effectively addressed.
- Engage in airworthiness certification activities, including testing participation, flight clearance, safe separation, and jettison testing, along with the development of test plans and technical reports.
- Evaluate system and subsystem interfaces, focusing on aircraft interfaces, ground subsystem interfaces, and participant interoperability within the network.
- Provide real-time support for flight tests from a mission control room.
- Possess the ability to interpret bit data, binary, hex, and embedded systems, and demonstrate proficiency in coding with Python.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with 14 years of relevant engineering experience, or a Master of Science in engineering with at least 10 years of experience, or a doctoral degree in engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience. A well-established professional reputation in one or more of the company's principal technical disciplines is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processes. Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for daily project activities, customer briefings, and report writing. Candidates should possess strong planning and organizational skills and have a working knowledge of computer systems and engineering tools. A government security clearance and a valid state-issued driver's license are required, along with U.S. citizenship.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The expected salary range for this position is $126,734 to $160,000 annually. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is conducted in a standard office setting with minimal hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), prolonged sitting, and extensive use of computer terminals are required. Constant visual attention for document review and editing, along with effective communication abilities, are essential. Routine travel to remote work locations may be necessary.
