Job Overview

STARTING PAY: $20/PER HOUR

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Function: Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of shuttle vehicles, ensuring the transportation of passengers along designated routes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-departure inspections of the assigned shuttle vehicle prior to each shift. Conduct post-journey inspections at the conclusion of each shift and promptly report any issues to the Supervisor.
  • Adhere to the scheduled route timings.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle interiors, refuel buses, record trip counts, and assist passengers with disabilities.
  • Commit to punctuality and attendance for all scheduled shifts, dressed in uniform.
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver's license, which must be carried at all times while on duty.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record as per DMV standards.
  • Provide courteous assistance to customers by addressing their inquiries. If necessary, refer them to the Supervisor for additional support.
  • Report any known incidents, observed or suspected breaches of company policy, safety risks, or unusual occurrences to the Supervisor or General Manager.
  • Communicate any debris, spills, or hazards to the Supervisor.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the garage area, major streets, landmarks, and highways.
  • Assist passengers with luggage and other travel items, as required.
  • Support Supervisors with additional tasks as needed.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the operation of shuttle vehicles.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED preferred. CDL training or a comparable combination of education and experience.

License Requirement: In accordance with DOT regulations, the driver must possess and maintain a valid CDL Class A, B, or C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.

DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is mandatory.

Certification Maintenance: All drivers must remain compliant with federal and local CDL requirements and are obligated to report any situation that disqualifies them from holding a CDL certification, including random drug testing and post-accident drug testing.

Work Availability: Must be available to work special shift requirements based on company needs. Availability for 3rd shift and/or weekends may be necessary.

Language Proficiency: Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write basic correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one situations with customers and other employees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with numbers.

Professional Appearance: Employees are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance and be in complete uniform at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle equipment. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally sit and climb or balance. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

STARTING PAY: $20/PER HOUR
