About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Health Screener to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Health Screener, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our donors by conducting thorough medical screenings and phlebotomy procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical screenings of donors to identify any potential health risks
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples from donors
  • Monitor donors during the donation process and manage any adverse reactions
  • Operate and maintain plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training
  • Stock supplies, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal
  • Take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures
  • Enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS)
  • Coordinate donors to the donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system
  • Support the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
  • Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
  • Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
  • Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear
  • 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient-facing role is helpful
