Patent Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Analyst with expertise in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology to support our contract with the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). As a remote independent contractor, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive searches and written opinions on patentability for diverse technologies.

• Conduct thorough searches of commercial patent databases and proprietary databases of technical publications
• Prepare written opinions applying relevant prior art to disclosures
• Maintain proficiency with search procedures and best practices
• Ensure timely and high-quality deliverables
• Comply with Clarivate's Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field
• 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• Strong time management skills and ability to complete projects against deadlines
• Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer

• Previous patent examining/patent searching experience
• Master's degree or PhD in a related field

This is a remote position, and all work must be completed in the United States. You will need a secure work location, a reliable high-speed internet connection, and a computer running up-to-date versions of Windows or Mac OS.
