Job Summary

The Senior Risk Analyst role at Jackson National Life Insurance Company is a critical position that supports the identification, management, and monitoring of risk across various business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing risk data, including mutual fund liquidity, derivative, and performance data, to facilitate the measurement, tracking, and reporting of material risks.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of risk management principles, processes, and practices, as well as experience with low-code/no-code platforms, such as Microsoft Power Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management processes, including Risk Control Self Assessments, Key Indicators, Scenario Analysis, and Internal Incident Management.
  • Leverage low-code/no-code platforms to create business intelligence reporting and process automation to enhance existing risk processes.
  • Compile key risk indicator data to support the completeness and quality of risk data originating from JNAM teams, committees, and working groups.
  • Assist in tracking remediation of internal events and incidents, near misses, and other errors.
  • Organize risk-themed reviews, ensuring outcomes align with business management's Risk Control Self Assessments.
  • Prepare reports and assessments for various Boards, Jackson Risk, and management.
  • Monitor daily alerts and prepare periodic reports for the Liquidity and Derivative Risk Management Programs.
  • Partner with Sub-Adviser Oversight and Compliance staff to research sub-adviser risk-related issues.
  • Develop organizational safeguards against risks, such as additional technology or risk mitigation protocols.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge or desire to gain knowledge of Microsoft Power Platforms.
  • Intellectual curiosity and growth mindset to enhance the JNAM Risk team.
  • General knowledge of investment advisory and fund administration operations.
  • Basic understanding of risk management principles, processes, and practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze problems and identify trends in data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate the status of assigned work.
  • Ability to maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in financial services required, mutual fund experience preferred.
  • Experience with FIS InvestOne preferred.
