Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain automated UI and API testing frameworks and test assets. They will collaborate with architecture, business users, development, and QA engineers to ensure proper testing coverage and system reliability, performance, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architecture to ensure standards, best practices, and principles are followed.
- Communicate complex technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support the completion of UI, API, and/or stress/performance automation test activities on multiple projects.
- Maintain a strong understanding of current test automation processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in waterfall, agile, CI/CD processes.
- Provide Rough Order of Magnitude Estimates (ROMs) and forecast resource needs for automation projects.
- Establish and maintain metrics to measure resource productivity, test progress, and QA effectiveness.
- Identify potential improvements, best practices, and efficiency to test automation processes.
- Design and implement complex, multi-tier solutions using OO Principles and modern design patterns.
- Coach and mentor less experienced test automation engineers.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of hands-on software testing, development, and/or test management experience.
- Experience with C#, Java,.NET, SQL, or other software languages.
- Knowledge of mobile automation and performance testing tools.
- Experience with object-oriented design and patterns.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
- Experience in working with agile, DevOps CI/CD process administration methodology.
- Knowledge of different test methods/tools.
- Ability to solve complex multi-tier issues independently.
- Knowledge of current trends in automation and ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts.
- Effective communication to convey testing results and implications to business leadership and IT delivery teams.
- College degree preferred in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
Salary Range
$104,000 - $150,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate's qualifications and experience.
