About the Role

Gallagher Bassett Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional to join our Safety & Health team as a Site Safety Manager. This is a contract-based full-time position overseeing safety operations for New York City metro area construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and enforce applicable construction site safety programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee and manage all site activities related to safe work practices, including reviewing construction/engineering designs and plans.
  • Ensure subcontractors perform all required actions and duties as it relates to safety compliance, fire/life safety, safety training, and emergency procedures.
  • Perform daily safety inspection report audits and related testing and verification of operational safety readiness.
  • Coordinate with other safety personnel for construction or build-out projects/activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in safety, industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, environmental health, or related field.
  • NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Licensed Site Safety Manager.
  • A valid Supervisor (62-hr) SST Card.
  • Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional construction safety experience.
