Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Financial Accountant to become a vital part of our organization. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an individual with a solid foundation in finance, particularly in property and residential accounting. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the financial stability and success of our organization. Responsibilities will include collaborating with our finance team on various accounting tasks, such as preparing journal entries, overseeing month-end close processes, managing general ledger activities, and generating financial statements. Familiarity with HUD and Yardi systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute general ledger accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data.
2. Timely preparation and posting of monthly journal entries.
3. Support the month-end closing process, meeting all financial reporting deadlines.
4. Create financial statements and reports, delivering clear and precise financial information to senior management.
5. Oversee property and residential accounting duties, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and standards.
6. Utilize HUD and Yardi systems for various accounting and financial reporting activities.
7. Collaborate with the finance team on budget formulation and financial planning.
8. Identify and rectify accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
9. Conduct financial analysis and reporting to aid in decision-making processes.
10. Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations, staying informed about changes in financial legislation.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2. At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
3. Proficient in preparing journal entries, financial statements, and general ledger accounting.
4. Strong background in property and residential accounting.
5. Proficient in HUD and Yardi systems.
6. Comprehensive understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
7. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
9. Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
11. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are advantageous.
