Newport Orthopedic Institute is seeking a highly skilled Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of our Human Performance and Sports Medicine Program, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to athletes and individuals in need of orthopedic services.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the Newport Orthopedic Institute Human Performance and Sports Medicine Program in various settings, including athletic training and event coverage.
- Work closely with athletic organizations, coaches, and physicians to provide expert care and support.
- Develop and implement injury prevention and care strategies, including concussion management protocols.
- Provide education and training to athletes, coaches, and community members on sports injury prevention and care.
- Collaborate with the HPSM Manager to schedule events, pick up and drop off materials, and ensure a safe and organized athletic training environment.
- NATA Board of Certification exam and state licensure or regulation (as determined by the state).
- Current Certification through NATABOC and good standing.
- Current CPR/AED Certification.
- Current private malpractice insurance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
- Skilled in the evaluation of injuries, triage, injury management, and knowledge of current concussion management strategies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Adherence to HIPAA, privacy, confidentiality, and safety guidelines.
This is a fast-paced orthopedic medical practice that offers outreach athletic training services. Hours of this position vary from nights, early mornings, and weekends. The Certified Athletic Trainer must be able to adjust and adapt to changing conditions.
