Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

As an Automation Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving fundamental HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues while addressing warranty inquiries.
  • Loading software for system-level controllers.
  • Conducting basic commissioning and system diagnostics from controllers to end devices, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Keeping management and clients updated on job progress and any arising issues.
  • Calibrating systems using basic electronic testing equipment.
  • Completing administrative duties such as time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
  • Documenting changes and providing information for as-built records.
  • Communicating effectively with clients upon arrival and before departing the work site.
  • Adhering to safety standards and participating in required safety training.

Preferred Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant technical electronics experience in an industrial or commercial setting.
  • Experience with software, commissioning, and/or PLC programming.
  • A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Industrial Automation, Electronic Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science is highly preferred, with education potentially substituting for experience.

Additional Skills:

Desirable skills include:

  • Familiarity with software from companies such as Johnson Controls, Trane, Siemens, or Honeywell.
  • Experience with low voltage systems related to security, fire, or access controls.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical HVAC systems.
  • IT networking knowledge.
