Position Overview:

The Sustainment Solutions Specialist will serve as a pivotal resource for clients, leveraging extensive expertise in the Department of Defense's (DoD) lifecycle management and sustainment methodologies to facilitate effective and economical capability delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison for clients, applying in-depth knowledge of product support principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with acquisition initiatives to assess, implement, monitor, and provide insights on pertinent sustainment directives and policies related to intellectual property management.
  • Contribute to the alignment of department-level policies regarding sustainment, logistics, and intellectual property.
  • Support the enhancement of the sustainment workforce through innovative strategies addressing intellectual property and data rights considerations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to inform improvements in sustainment policies, processes, and procedures concerning intellectual property.
  • Formulate recommendations and execute plans that reflect sustainment expertise in response to updates in statutory, regulatory, and policy frameworks.
  • Design and implement innovative strategies for the deployment of new sustainment policy initiatives, including metrics for evaluating effectiveness.
  • Engage in complex problem-solving, delivering highly creative solutions.
  • Represent the organization in relevant projects or programs, working autonomously in a dynamic environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting DoD acquisition programs.
  • Experience within a DoD acquisition program, Program Executive Office, or Service- or OSD-level acquisition office.
  • Proficiency in developing sustainment-related documentation and analyses, such as Lifecycle Support Plans and Business Case Analyses.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in implementing DoD acquisition and sustainment policies and procedures.
  • Background as an OSD staff action officer, including policy coordination and congressional engagement.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and data rights issues throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Experience facilitating high-level meetings in both physical and virtual settings.
  • Involvement in workforce development initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders on course and curriculum development.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.
