Position Overview

The Prepared Foods Team Member plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service within the prepared foods department. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities including food preparation, customer service, sanitation, and product stocking. Team members are expected to uphold a positive image of the company by providing friendly and efficient service to both customers and fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve a diverse selection of hot and cold foods, such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizzas.
  • Engage customers by offering samples of products.
  • Restock hot and cold displays with prepared foods from the kitchen and refrigeration units.
  • Monitor product freshness by checking in-stock dates and rotating items as necessary.
  • Manage recyclables by bailing and consolidating materials.
  • Assist in organizing and showcasing seasonal and high-volume items.
  • Complete required documentation including spoilage, sampling, temperature, and cleaning worksheets.
  • Participate in periodic inventory assessments.
  • Arrive punctually, well-groomed, and ready to fulfill scheduled shifts and attend necessary training sessions.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, addressing customer needs promptly and effectively while utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential through proper procedures for food preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Adhere to established procedures regarding weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, ensuring equipment meets cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy in signage and pricing.
  • Report any safety hazards or violations immediately.

Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
