Barnes & Noble College is seeking a resourceful and driven team member to work as a part-time Cafe Supervisor in our BNC Starbucks Licensee Cafe. As a Cafe Supervisor, you will provide assistance to the management team, have oversight for team members, greet customers, and increase customer loyalty while preparing drinks and food in a fast-paced academic environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the management team and be a resource for all departments.
- Model customer service and drive sales.
- Help train and oversee the daily work activity of team members.
- Maintain a working knowledge of cafe operations and assist in the preparation and serving of food and drinks.
- Assist with assigning work and providing focused direction to team members.
- Help resolve customer issues and complaints.
- Operate equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, and maintain supplies.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Replenish customer service stations and assist with processing sales transactions.
Requirements
- Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment.
- Prior supervisor or manager experience.
- High-energy, friendly personality with strong communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
