Position Overview:
The Construction Equipment Technician (CET) will:

  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Overhaul and maintain heavy machinery such as cranes, bulldozers, and other construction equipment.
  • Inspect and operate machinery to identify defects.
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment utilizing hoists and hand tools.
  • Assess components for damage or wear using precision measuring tools.
  • Replace faulty engines and subassemblies, ensuring optimal performance through testing.
  • Weld broken components and structural parts as needed.
  • Occasionally supervise personnel involved in cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of machinery.
  • Maintain and repair mining equipment, including shovels and drilling machines.
  • Conduct field-level maintenance on all assigned equipment, including military and commercial vehicles.
  • Perform technical inspections, diagnostics, and repairs in accordance with established specifications.
  • Execute A/C repairs on a variety of automotive and material-handling equipment.
  • Interpret technical documents, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records as per regulatory requirements.
  • Handle hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental standards and safety protocols.
  • Be prepared to deploy for equipment support as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A valid State-issued Driver's License.
  • Possession of personal tools that align with the required tool list, along with the ability to utilize government-provided tools.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain access to local bases and meet Common Access Card (CAC) requirements.
  • A certificate of training from a recognized vocational institution in automotive maintenance or a related field.
  • Consideration may be given to a combination of education, training, and certifications in lieu of formal coursework.

Preferred Skills:
Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Expertise in military-grade equipment.
  • EPA certification for Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling.
  • A strong background in automotive maintenance.
  • Leadership and effective time management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Our workforce operates on an hourly basis with a guaranteed 40-hour work week. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, with potential for overtime during peak operational periods. Employees receive 11 Federal Holidays annually, in addition to accrued paid time off.
