Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective literacy programs that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver high-quality instructional materials and assessments.
- Provide coaching and support to teachers to enhance their instructional practices and improve student outcomes.
- Design and implement research-based interventions to support struggling students.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment that promotes a love of learning and fosters a sense of community.
- Assess and document student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and guardians.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in literacy education and implement innovative approaches to instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement district-wide literacy initiatives.
- Provide support and accommodations for students with special needs and English language learners.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in reading or a related field.
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention.
