Dispatch Operations Coordinator

  • Remain on-call for sick or scheduled vacation of Full-Time Dispatchers, as determined by the Director of Communications, Director of Operations, or Chief of Security.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for help and information, utilizing a range of communication methods.
  • Field calls via phone, radio, and walk-up window, while also engaging with the public via email.
  • Operate the radio communication system to dispatch officers, disseminate information, and communicate with officers during calls.
  • Monitor Lipscomb facilities and properties using the surveillance system, and review footage during investigations.
  • Manage various dispatch computer software to log calls, generate reports, create IDs, and issue parking permits.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors and agencies, such as security monitoring providers, local emergency response agencies, and local utility providers.
  • Assist with parking request facilitation, as needed, in coordination with the Parking Division.
  • Develop and implement dispatch procedures, protocols, and training in coordination with the Director of Communications, Director of Operations, and Director of Security.
  • Implement communications technology and protocols, providing training to personnel as necessary.
  • Work with stakeholders to enhance and maximize video surveillance systems.
  • Engage in the development and training of specialized programs, such as field training officers, special units, and community outreach.
  • Participate in accreditation processes, as tasked by the Director of Communications, Director of Operations, and/or Director of Security.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of personnel, in coordination with the Director of Communications and Director of Operations.
  • Present in-person training for in-service and similar programs.
  • Report on tasks, as needed.
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attend regular staff meetings.
  • Meet with the Director of Communications as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
